OUR STORY

WDN Works is a South African design studio exploring plywood and hardwoods as structure, surface, and form.

Founded in 2021 by Chris Cradock, the studio began as a fabrication workshop and evolved into an independent design practice — developing original collections defined by geometric clarity, exposed layering, and engineered performance.

Today, WDN Works designs custom products and manufactures five core collections:

Homeware — layered wooden surfaces and serving objects
Vases — sculptural wooden vessels for flowers and foilage
Planters — designed for living plants, with integrated drainage and concealed water management.
Striation — structural plywood furniture
Phone & Laptop Accessories — refined desk and device accessories

Each collection explores material, proportion, and function through a disciplined design language.

All products are designed and manufactured in-house.

WHAT WE MAKE

We design and manufacture plywood and solid wood objects for modern living.

Our collections include serving surfaces, bowls, planters, sculptural vessels, furniture, and desk accessories.

Every WDN Works piece is:

  • Material-led — layered ply or solid hardwood expressed as structure and surface
  • Form-driven — defined by geometry and controlled proportion
  • Functional — engineered for everyday use
  • Durable — sealed, heat-resistant, and liquid-resistant where required
  • Precisely made — CNC and laser cut for accuracy
  • Responsibly produced — crafted using sustainably sourced materials
